To call oneself a web developer it is not mandatory to have done any courses. A portfolio of substantive successful projects is required however. I don't just mean 5 or 6 page websites for local companies - I mean successful web designs and database driven websites such as e-commerce or CMS. It is necessary to display a range of experience - php, css, flash, etc.

I wouldn't say it was what or how many courses you have done. I think it's more of a case of knowing the subject very well and having a large portfolio of work and good references.

I have learnt Front Page, HTML, and some SEO, SEM. Which course should i learn now for becoming a Web Developer?

Apache, SQL, MySQL, Php, Java and Flash are probably a good place to start but the list is endless.
