Hey ppl I am having some problem with printing at the school, as there is no log kept i was woundering if there is a way i can limit the amout of printing a certain user can do perday/week/or per year please can some one help me.

What make/model printer is it? Is it a MFD or a plain desktop?

If you need a decent logging solution for free, Papercut Print Logger will do the job nicely. It won't limit prints but you will have a nice log of who's printed what so you can go and moan at them. If you want to limit it completely, you'd need one of the paid for solutions like Papercut NG or look into building yourself some Linux based print servers.

You could try Software for print quota and print control management. Your print accounting and monitoring solution - PaperCut It does cost but looks good. If you limited on cost you can use the free version to monitor printing.

Products like Print Manager Plus allows you to restrict printing. Allocating virtual credit to users/groups allows you to keep a close eye on printer use. It does definitely pay for itself in the longterm. Toner seems to get increasingly more expensive every year.
