Guest spider6986 Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hey everyone, Just wondered if anyone else has had this and if they know of a fix yet for it. We use sims.net here and I have now got my main machine that I use every day running Windows 7. Sims has installed fine, and most of it works fine, however when I try and run the system manager section it gives me the error the program can't start because netui2.dll is missin from the computer I thought it must have jsut been me, but someone else here is also running windows 7 now and has the same issue. Any thoughts???
Mcshammer_dj Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 YOu would normally need to run the wssetup section on the machine to allow the 16 bit software to work. This will not fix the problem however as Microsoft have withdrawn support for for the BDE elements which the version 6 modules will need to work. Capita will only offer support 6 months after a product has been released
localzuk Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 There's no 16bit application support in Windows 7. So, the older bits of SIMS.net will not work (System Manager, FMS6 (IIRC), NOVA-T4/T6 (I think T6 anyway)).

Simply because I have tried on Vista 64bit, Windows 7 64bit, and Server 2003 64bit all with the list of apps I listed above not working...
enjay Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 The printing process in Nova T6 is exactly the same as the one from T4, and I think there are other examples of "good" bits of t4 simply being bolted onto T6, so it could well be that it doesn't run on Win7. I must admit, when I had SIMS installed on Win7, I didn't try opening T6. Here's hoping Capita release a Win7-friendly version before we have Win7 desktops. Likelihood of that?

Install 64bit, then print a students timetable, what it doesn't work? Could that be because it's in Nova-T4 and is only 16bit, I think so! Nova-T6 works in 64bit, because it's a 32bit app. Win7 32bit will work, I believe. 64bit will not run Nova-T4 (where all the Nova reports are)
