SIMS Profile Manager - Comments lose focus

Bit of a strange one this...

 

We've got teachers using Profile Manager to do reports, and some teachers want to add additional information to their comments, so "free type" in the comments box. However, during their typing (at what seems like random timing), the comments box will lose focus. SIMS itself still has focus, so as far as I can tell it's not an external program grabbing focus, but something internal that's grabbing the focus. Has anyone else seen this issue or know how to solve it?

We have had this exact same problem when staff are filling in Behaviour Logs. You will find it probably isn't a random amount of time and that it will be the exact time in seconds that the My Messages box on the homepage is set to to check for new messages. We found extending this time to it's max (every 5 mins) was normally enough to make teachers happy. However, we got a patch released to us a little while later to resolve this problem! So check with whoever provides your SIMS.net support.

Which version of Sims are you running at the moment?

As an earlier version did have this problem but was fixed in a later release.

@tobyhacker: Thanks, have sent contact to local helpdesk, so will see what they come back with.

 

@bossman: Apparently it's 7.116, we've got the June release due soon from what the LA said at the end of last week.

Same as ours, so what tobyhacker has suggested seems the only logical option. :)
