Arcath Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 This appears to be a problem with fedora 11, yum just wont work inside the lancsngfl. The problem is that it cant download new package lists. when i copied in the package list from my netbook (which it dled the night before on an unfiltered internet connection) it worked no problems at all. The problem now is that when ever i want to update servers i have to copy in the package list, and if ever i want to install anything on my netbook, and it hasnt downloaded a package list recently yum hangs. I definatley have the proxy set, and a fedora 10 machine on the same connection using the same settings is able to install packages etc.. no problems

Yum repomd.xml problem - FedoraForum.org also I assume you set proxy=http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx in your /etc/yum.conf

Arcath Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 im not getting any error messages like the ones in that forum post, which is the odd thing it just sits there doing nothing. The second link is filtered here (ALL HAIL THE WHITELIST). My netbook is able to refresh the adobe linux repo (for flash) but cant refresh "Fedora 11" or "Fedora 11 Updates"
Ric_ Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 My netbook is able to refresh the adobe linux repo (for flash) but cant refresh "Fedora 11" or "Fedora 11 Updates" Have you tried a different mirror?
Arcath Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 I am using the main mirror site as my mirror, so it gets given a mirror link, and if that doesnt work it requests another. the actual downloading works fine if i copy in the package list that i got outside the lancsngfl it can connect and download packages no problem.
