browolf Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I'm impressed. ubuntu installed without any issue on a oldish HP ML350 server.
Geoff Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Blame Redhat. They have a lot of HP servers listed in their supported hardware list. Thus thats how the driver support has wound up in the kernel. We use HP servers exclusively for our Linux boxes (Although in the past we've also used Dell kit with success).
pod Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I got a great deal on a Proliant ML115, £160, and I use it as my desktop computer at home running Ubuntu Studio. I blogged about it here; 64-bit Quad-Core Opteron computer for under £200 Chris Matchett
budgester Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Yup feeling the love for HP and Linux here as well.
