Last Thursday morning no-one could access email on our Exchange Server. I have a combined Windows/MAC network - all classrooms and staff laptops are mac. Exchange and SIMS on Windows. Neither PCs nor macs can access mail. IP PING returns replies so communication is OK at this level. I have virtually no exchange knowledge but am guessing the communication failure is on the software level. All appropriate services appear to be running. can anyone help or point me in the direction of where I can buy in some help please? C

The first port of call would be to make sure all Exchange related services are running. If they are, try dismounting and remounting the mailbox stores.

The usual cause of this is that the Mailbox Store service is stopped (this can happen when its memory usage runs a little wild).

The place to start is by looking for red stuff in the event logs dated last Thu morning.

[Exchange server time out-of sync-with-domain is another contender]
