I'd thought about that - actually sound doesn't bother me, I'd want it for photo editing stuff.

Theres a useful thread here HP Proliant ML115 G5 Windows XP install work run

Though I'm not convinced of it's graphic abilities..

Cheers for that - I did fathom that Nvidia actually did HP drivers on its website even though HP don't - but the motherboard drivers are not quite right, there were two unidientified bits of hardware in device manager that the nforce driver did not cure. ACtual CPU perfomance was good - but graphic performance on XP was terrible, e.g if you did something strenuous the mouse would actually stutter.

IT was all fine on Windows 2003 thouough. Seems to be to be purposefully castrated by HP on XP as the low end servers like this totally outperform and undercut HP's desktops :(

Just a heads up - I was hoping to buy these servers in order to use as exceptionally good value quad core powerful workstations, but unfortunatly HP are one step ahead - no sound card, no drivers for Win XP or Vista :(

Plan officially scuppered.

Ive made them into XP PCs before, do as you have done, manual driver hunting and then stick in a PCI VGA Card and a PCI Sound Card and voilla you have a very decent Quad Core Desktop PC for less than HP will charge for one :D The missing hardware if I remember rightly was server works kinds of stuff so wouldn't worry about it.

Hi,

Do you have any of these left please? Is the offer still on? You say you can fit 4 drives in how empty floppy bays are there? Also how many Sata power connectors on the power supply please?

Many Thanks

Yes, we still have stock of these at this price :)

There are no floppy bays on the ML115 G5 but there are 2 5.25" bays so you could get an adapter to mount a floppy-sized drive in one of those. The PSU has 6 SATA power connectors.

Yes - We've still got stock of these :)

We also have limited stock of these ML310 quad-core tower servers which we have for just £629.95 each - Well worth considering!

Thanks

Unfortunately we have just sold the last of the UK stock of the ML310 G5 servers I mentioned, and all of the ML310 G5s are now EOL (to be replaced by ML330s)

As an alternative to the ML310, I have specced up an Acer Altos G330 MK2 server to a similar specification to the ML310 above and it comes out a little cheaper at just £598.76 ex VAT. You can see details of this server here.

We still have plenty of stock of the £169.99 Quad-Core ML115 G5's :)
