KWestos Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I am trying to find who owns a domain name, but they have their details hidden from WHOIS. Is there a way of finding out who owns a domain name when they have opted out of displaying their details publicly?
SteveBentley Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 It's likely to depend whether it's a .uk or .com etc - different registrars have different policies.
powdarrmonkey Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nominet won't give you details of the registrant if they've opted out of whois; the best you can do is persuade them they are doing something dodgy and have a police investigation.
Edu-IT Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 If there's something dodgy going on you can also contact the host. Look at the NS for the domain and work out who the host is from that.
