I will admit I am a complete linux numpty but have downloaded a copy of a Moodle vmware appliance from moodle.org and it comes all preconfigured on Centos 5 OS.

Got the server up and running and moodle is working fine but I need to give our web designer access into the Moodle directory on the linux server from her windows xp workstation. I have been trying and failing to share it with Samba - one of the main problems being that I cannot add a samba user... fill in all the details and click ok and the user list remains blank..

I have joined the server to the domain and can query the list of users on our domain with the command wbinfo -u

To join it to the domain I used this excellent step by step guide for novices like myself ;)

Any ideas or should I just give up and try and install it on Windows!?
