Guest theeldergeek Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Ladies and Gentlemen, on saturday my wife gave birth by emergency caesarian to my beautiful daughter Grace. She has made me the happiest man alive! She is such a star, sleeps like a good'un, doesnt fuss and loves cuddling her family! Congratulations. Always have time for her and never be "too busy". Hope Mum is fine. Good luck to you all.
Sirbendy Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Congrats matey.. We're expecting in November, and I'm writing a "sprog diary" already..including vids and pics of things that sprog might not get to see (elderly relatives, etc etc). Plan on keeping this up for the first however many years, as I figure it'll be nice for all to look back at. 1
rad Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Congratulations on the new arrival, she looks all sweet and inocent in that photo! I have 2 nephews and a younger brother but glad I was never around for the nappy changes! 1
FatBoy Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Congrats, she is lovely I little over 2 and a half months and my first will be coming along! I bet its the best feeling in the world. I'm jealous but guess I haven't got that long to wait! 1
featured_spectre Posted May 19, 2009 Author Posted May 19, 2009 I burst into tears when she was born, as soon as I heard her little scream that was it, I was off. The doctors who delivered her said they had never seen a dad who smiled and cried so much at the same time. And if it helps, she is the spitting image of me when I was a baby, but hopefully she will grow out of that! lol
elsiegee40 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I burst into tears when she was born... Our daughter had the same effect on my husband - he said he never expected to feel so emotional about her arrival! 1
Hollie1985 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Lovely, enjoy these most precious moments in your life all the best! 1
actech Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Congratulations, I have a three month old now and I know the feelings you are having and still cherish them. Hope the wife is recovering well as I know that a C-section can take it's toll on them. 1
jsnetman Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 All the best and I also became a father on the 11th, I'm so proud. 2
featured_spectre Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 congratulations JSNetman. Hope she brings all the joys in the world. And my baby is called Grace Susan Sabine Taylor (named after beckys nan, her mum, my mum and my surname). Had it have been a boy it would have been Jakob Adrian Philip Taylor (my grandad, my dad, her dad and my surname).

Had it have been a boy it would have been Jakob Adrian Philip Taylor (my grandad, my dad, her dad and my surname). You've got some nice names there. Just as well we didn't do that: My son would have been David David David ... And my daughter Joyce Irene June I think they prefer Nicholas and Katharine! 1

witch Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Hi Witch, babies name is Melissa. Nice name - hadn't really heard it much until I had my own children - there was one in my eldest's class, and, oddly enough his current girlfriend of 2.5 years is Melissa. She doesn't allow it to be shortened and no one ever does - although I now know one called Lissa 1
jsnetman Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) Mellisaa was chosen because my wife is Turkish and Melissa is used in Turkey and UK. Babies middle name is Betul which is definately Turkish and Nihal my wifes grandmother's name. Nihal wanted "Melissa Betul Rubendiz Burne" but I thought that was too long and removed the Rubendiz name. Edited May 21, 2009 by jsnetman 1
