I have the task of finding some brackets/cases that will attach pc's to steel posts running from the floor to the ceiling. Just wondering if anyone knows of any sites I can check out that supply such products

Ive just started sponsoring this forum and we trade in racks/cabients.

We could get a server security case which is normally fixed through the base to the floor modified to be fixed through the side.

The cases are steel with ventilation, cable entry and steel lockable door.

As its non standard we would need to order 10+. They would work out more expensive than the brackets shown in the links but if you would prefer a lockable case its an option.

If of any interest please contact me.

Are your posts parallel sided, or do they get wider nearer the floor? I ask as you might be able to strap a standard bracket to them if they taper with the banding used in ventilation systems. Just like Jubilee clips, but in a cut-to-length reel. If the tube is parallel, I think it would slide down without too much effort.

Hi there,

When we supply our Multiseat Computers we tend to specify desks by Bretford too. they have a huge range of CPU Holders & gadgets.

Alternatively try InDesk. Again they're great fun to deal with and tend to work on demand too, building bespoke items for good prices.

Cheers,

We had these put in a couple of our computer suites and they were nothing but trouble. Really flimsy, we had a couple of damaged pcs and a lot of students hurt their chins.

If you're gonna get them you better be sure it's what you want!

Hi Batman,

What the Bretford desks? Have you complained, let me know as I can get Bretford online for you. How do you hurt your chin on a desk too! We once had a batch delivered with scratched surfaces, and we got a discount off them. If you've got desks that are jumping up and chinning people, I know a few ICT Coordinators in the Prison Service who'd pay over the odds and could take them off your hands! LOL

Cheers,

No, sorry I meant the metal cage mount thingys from CPC. We had some like them.

I didn't mean chins, I meant to say shins... I'm sure someone's tried to pick up a bag and bashed their chin on a desk before though!

Not my greatest post ever... chaos, panic and disorder. My work here is complete! :D
