Internal eBay??

I've just been approached with another bizarre idea so I thought I'd throw it open to you lot to see what you think.

 

Every department now and again has some surplus equipment which could be useful to other departments. Instead of throwing it away, they would like to make it available to others if they want it.

 

Someone has suggested maybe an online system where an offer of some equipment could be make and other departments could either bid or offer something in return. Kind of an internet eBay/Freecycle/Swap Shop thing.

 

Any idea how I could do this???

Or a sharepoint site possibly? I seem to remember a marketplace style template in the 40 free templates download.....

I do it here for our departments. Its just a forum on our sharepoint site - the department posts:

 

"Does anybody want an OHP that we do not use anymore in the department".

 

First to reply gets it.
