Heya Guys,

I've just sucessfully finished a project of migrating all servers from Server 2003 to Server 2008 Enterprise for a client!

no problems at all for once!

has anyone else moved completely over to 2008 yet?

Just make sure you properly demote the old servers and give all servers a chance to replicate etc and check logs, dcdiag.exe etc

I started, Migrated the DCs and an AV server. Hated it so much (because it's annoying and likes to think it knows more than I do about the network) that I've decided to put moving from 2003 on hold indefinately (apart from DCs, they have the only features worth using).

I was going to have all of our Windows servers be 2008 machines but I needed to run GhostScript on the print server to act as a Postscript interpreter for some of the cheaper printers and that only works on Server 2003. Some printer drivers seemed to have issues with Server 2008, too, so we'll keep that one machine as Server 2003.

I literally just moved the FSMO roles from a 2000 DC to a hyperv 2008 DC and it was a breeze.

We will be keeping the 2000 DC online for a bit yet before removing it and increasing functionality level but otherwise it all seems to be working here well :D
