I don't currently have access to SIMS, the help I urgently need is where can I access DCSF statutory requirements?

An actual course could be handy but they cost a lot and I only need a refresher so as to be able to access DCSF statutory requirements.

Capita courses are generally in the thousands, ask your LEA should be round the £100 mark, depending what it is.

Sounds like you want the School Census, the other big one is the Workforce Census, which links into Personnel (P7).

DCSF statutory requirements is still a wide range. For example, you must record AM\PM marks - Attendance.

Really need a list of bits you want to do. Are you going to be teaching? Maintaining SIMS (technical)? Will you be doing data based work?

Information is very helpful thank you

Another question where in the SIMS system is this data recorded and subsequently extracted to

SIMS .net uses MSSQL to store the data. Data is inputted via the SIMS client.

There are a number of routines that also get data in and out. Many out.

Generally most companies\schools use the report engine.

LEAs have B2B

DCSF has XSL files that Capita use to create reports within SIMS that school then submits via the COLLECT website (or submit to the LEA who then upload to COLLECT).

Also there is the CTF routine that schools export student details when they leave the school for the new school. This is then uploaded (generally) to the S2S website.
