the red button stuff is good. The kers for the teams that are using it except for williams are li-ion batteries recharged by a motor attached to the rear axle as they brake.

I understand that Ferrari are looking at a "kers" system that will be triggered by sensors around the track and controlled by a Wide Area Network. :)

That'll be along the same lines as their traffic light pit system then!!!

I would be worried about using kers much in a ferrari at the moment, they even said during the torrential rain, that they might ask if they can run without it incase it shorts/melts again!

Highlight of the race? Ferrari Communications guy talking about how Kimi is going to get back into the car, and continue racing, because Kimi is a racer, and wants to be in the car.

...

Meanwhile, Kimi is walking around in a T-Shirt and shorts, blatantly not giving a toss about the race.

Having said that... even compared to last year, Kimi is not on the ball this year. He was stuck behind Alonso (on a slower, much heavier car) until FA made a mistake. Within half a lap, KR was what... a second up on him? So if his car was THAT much faster (and they both have KERS, so it's not even a quesiton of that), why didn't KR bother overtaking?

Maybe this really will be his last season, the man doesn't care any more.

Kimi went up in my estimation for doing that. It was clear to everyone that there was no way the race would continue.

As another posted pointed out, this race was only put on at this time for advertising money. Take the night time race for instance. One of the drivers, who's name escapes me has criticised them saying it is too dangerous when dark as they can hardly see - the very reason non of them wanted to get back into their cars on Sunday.

The race was a damp squib in all aspects.
