I have done this before but for server 2003.

We are updating all our server hardware and software and Im having trouble getting the cachepilot to be picked up in the DC-01 active directory

following steps done

1 click Advanced

2 click Web User Authentication

3 select Active Directory and click OK

4 Click next

5 Enter

  • server ip address 10.64.64.7
  • Domain: myschool.local
  • user: administrator
  • Password: (domain password)

6 Click OK

this is what I've done in the past for joining to a server 2003 box

any ideas what Im doing wrong?

We use LDAP:-

LDAP:

Server IP: 10.xx.xxx.x

User Directory: OU=Establishments,DC=school,DC=internal

User: CPAdmin,OU=CP

Password: **********

User Authentication: LDAP

CPAdmin is set up in a separate OU called CP at the same level as Establishments. It has "Domain Users" in groups and nothing more.

it might be like ghost and require a change to default domain controllers policy

Default Domain Controller Policy-->Computer Configuration-->Policies-->Administrative Templates-->System-->Net Logon

allow cryptography algorithms compatible with Windows NT 4.0 enabled

OK finally getting some where now. Equiinet are currently testing the latest software update (V5.2.0 for V5 cachepilots to allow binding with server 2008. That answers the question to why I can joine it to server 2008 using either LDAP or Active Directory.

what a farse on!

Would a nice admin kindly change the title to as Solved..

Equiinet have created an update for the cachepilot to allow me to join the cachepilot to server 2008 AD

All is working how it should be now.

not sure if this update will be pushed out any way but here is the info.

I SUGGEST IF ANYONE TRY'S THIS THE SHOULD CONACT THERE PROVIDER FIRST.

2008 AD This will work now - CachePilot needs to be on code v 5.2.0 to

Nub is available from Index of /~upgrade/520

Apply nub 1683 first then nub 1687

NB - boxes have to be on 5.1.3. code at the mo to do this, I'm almost

certain you are but check first

Download the nubs onto your LAN somewhere

Log into CP GUI and go to Maintenance/Advanced/Upgrade/Upload

Check it's currently 5.1.3 - if not then contact your easynet manager!!!

If it is then choose the nub from the LAN drive and click OK - CP will

load the nub and reboot itself.

Repeat with 2nd nub.

Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes per nub - but you'll not be able to

use CP while it's doing this...
