I'm saying nooooo. 'They' are saying yeeeeeees!

Can you give me some reasons why you think this work experience girl should not be given access to the school database please. Or if you think she should, tell me why also?!? She will have been CRB'd but that is it.

Cheers

Is she a PGCE student of just a work experience kid? We give PGCE students basic access to our system (but they can't really do anything on that). Definitely not if it's just work experience.

Yeah, agree with Dom, should be SMT decision

Just work experience. She is doing some kind of 'secreterial' course. Not a student from this school. A random if you will. Its the school database, staff, pupil, parent details - the full shabang. I can heavily restict to the point its futile to do anything in there really.

CRB's mean nothing any more.

Best thing you could do is find a way of her getting to non-sensitive, or only mildly sensitive data - student addresses for sending letters home, but not SEN information for example. She is traning to be a secretary, after all, so it's striking a nice balance between giving her some real experience and not taking risks with data.
