Sharepoint, Firefox and SLK

The three pieces of software don't seem to work together!

When assigning a piece of work, SLK hangs when loading and doesn't show any content. Is there anything i can do as a work around?

 

Trying to resolve this asap as a parent is refusing to use IE at home and the student is not doing his homework.

I don't know enough about Sharepoint to really comment but is it that restricted when using Firefox?

 

Maybe lay on a terminal services connection so he can use IE from inside the building..

 

Can you confirm this with Firefox from your home?

Weird, i have never notcied anything like this and i use firefox everynow and again.

 

what version is he using do you know?

The only issue we have come across with Firefox and SLK is the fact that Firefox does not display the filter info in the left margin of the assignment list web part.

 

However it operates the web part OK and the students can still access their assignment through it.

I have also tried this myself and it doesn't work (version 3.0.7), nothing is displayed other than the course content and the submit button. The student has been given a detention too as he hasn't done his homework!!!!

His parents allow him to remote access their work computer with IE on , but refuse to install IE at home because they are concerned about the security flaws in it!!

I put a version of SLK which supports Firefox up at http://www.salamandersoft.co.uk/slkfirefox.html. This is based on version 1.3.1 so you would need to upgrade to that to use it.

 

There was quite a few issues with Firefox, but the main one was that the Scorm player was completely broken.

 

This was before I was project co-ordinator which is why it's not on CodePlex. ITWorx have been commissioned by Microsoft to do some fixed to SLK, one of which is Firefox support, so I'm probably going to wait to see that before integrating into the trunk.
