I have no interest on what a friend to the nth degree of a friend is currently doing!

If you want to talk to people, pick up the phone or right an email to them, don't blast out a world wide ping of complete uselessness!!!

 

BTW, I do have one but only as I've been trying to organise a stag do. Using it for the first time, I came to the above conclusion within 1 week. I've moved to google groups for the purposes I need.

Facebook and Myspace

 

Myspace is brilliant for advertising my band locally and even got us gigs in places like Manchester Academy.

 

Use Facebook more for communicating with friends, although its recently turned completely s:censored:t

and wants to be twatter.

 

I hate the new look.

All my friends hate the new look.

They should put it back to how it was.

 

Although I turned my facebook into "Pirate Language" which is AWESOME!

I tried twitter after reading a pdf by Scott mckayabout using it as a dating site, but frankly microblogging and random commenting doesnt suit. I got bored of the whole experience after 2 weeks or so. Edited March 16, 2009 by browolf

got a bebo and a facebook. dont use the bebo much anymore since everyone seems to have jumped on the facebook bandwagon. Dont really use it much to be honest. Sign in maybe once a week to have a nosey at everyones business.

yeah ive not really ever seen the point of blogs, some people use them as places to put what I would call articles. But apparently that word has now been replaced by blog.... I suppose you can't say your going on to your pc to do some articling though...

Some blogs to be fair are fascinating - especially if someone of a certain profession is sharing information about their field. And I like music ones, where people just post about different obscure artists - its the best way of sharing knowledge like that

 

But personal blogs are very rarely worth reading. I thought about starting one but who would want to read it?

Interesting idea, fair play to whoever gets any results with that. But realistically, the amount of normal women using the thing is going to be far outweighed by the amount of guys wanting to chat them up on it

iirc its got a lot to do with using social proof (lots of friends (1000+) who comment) to illustrate oneself as being respected/interesting Even in a short amount of time I'd managed to get a few local watchers.
