Have now come to Edugeek because of the emulator not connecting and will be trying the above to open it up for students. Instructions got me up and running with the packaging of both Chrome and app inventor. Not had to enable the CMD prompt (it runs as above screenshot, but I don't get the countdown, so working on unblocking the local host through the Chrome permissions.)

Hi, can I suggest an open source paintball game that runs very well within our school network. I spent ages talking to the developer who was more than happy to let me modify certain areas (eliminations instead of kills, and a few sound file mods). Thought I'd covered everything and presented it to SLT only to have it refused (we're a Christian school but I thought paintball would be ok). .:] Digital Paint [:.:] Paintball 2.0 [:.:] News [:. I've now gone to Trackmania Nations and I'm waiting to hear back from them. If it gets refused again, I just won't bother.

We had a similar thing but got it working on IE eventually though it was dog slow :-( Took SW suggestion and moved over to Chrome and now it flies!

I have to say that I can't agree with the review above. I had one on trial in January for an agreed month. I sent it back after 4 days. It's completely under powered being an Atom and all and constantly froze for upto 30 seconds every couple of minutes. Intially I thought that here was something cost affective in the classroom but at least with an iPad, it works out of the box. In fact we have an iPad2 arriving shortly from Western Digital which will be really interesting considering the app that's being produced by Capita. What I'd really like to see is one of the new Android tablets. Cost and ability in one!

Thanks MB2k01, after getting a Desire HD along with a couple of SLT members, we couldn't understand why we weren't connecting to the exchange. Following your post for the connectivity site, I worked my way through method 2 (RM setting up the exchange the easy way when they installed it!) and we're now connected through the mail widget perfectly. Thanks very much for all the posts here, brownie points from SLT for me :-)

Sadly, on my HTCDHD, I can't get scans off of laptop barcodes! Works fine when scanning a box of Nurofen though :-)

We had one as a trial. The trial length was a month but I returned it within a week. In it's un"RM'd" state, we connected it to the wireless and started playing but found that it kept freezing/stuttering for 30 seconds at a time. Woefully underpowered (has the same Atom CPU as the RM Mini's) and as we were playing with it, realised that what actual use was there for it? We initially thought the teacher could use it for SIMS and projecting, class room collaboration, but at £400 a pop, we couldn't trust the students to treat it with respect. Our HoD for ICT came to the same conclusion. Even if it became cheaper and more powerful, I still think we'd rather put the money elsewhere!

Black Sheep, I completely agree!!! I have no interest on what a friend to the nth degree of a friend is currently doing! "John is currently eating cheese on toast". O joy, thanks for sharing that with me, my life is more rounded for that! "Lucy has a bad itch!". Please don't carry on. If you want to talk to people, pick up the phone or right an email to them, don't blast out a world wide ping of complete uselessness!!! BTW, I do have one but only as I've been trying to organise a stag do. Using it for the first time, I came to the above conclusion within 1 week. I've moved to google groups for the purposes I need.

Hi, Just wanted to share my sentiments with the others put up here. We started using this at the beginning of this acedemic year after I played with it during the summer holidays. We find it an absolutely fantastic bit of kit. I had to speak to Mike Fairbrother a few times to get it working correctly but I couldn't have wished for better service. For guys that were doing it for the love of the thing, their service was better then some "proper" software vendors. Did I donate? No, and that's because it was free. Something else always got in the way of getting it done. Every now and then I kept thinking "got to get that sorted with accounts." As others have said, if I had had a trial and then had to pay a nominal fee to get the works, it would have kicked me up the arse and we would have paid straight away once we knew how good it was, though when we heard about Lanview4 was due to be released just after Christmas, we decided not to donate until this had become available and was working on our network. Again, would it have just continued to be "must get that organised". I hope not as that would make me quite a low-life. I feel guilty as hell now at the thought of MST folding is partly down to us. After reading the threads here, I've spoken to my boss who has said that if solid information comes to light that MST will come back, we're donating a "goodly" sum as the software has been invaluable to us. It's in black and white Kevin, can't go back on it can I?
