We have a bit of a crisis here, our projectors seem to be falling over left right and centre!

In the short term I need to replace four or five projectors and I have ~£2500 to spend.

What could I get for £400 - £600 each that is a worthwhile buy? They're all for use on Promethean whiteboards.

Hi there, first post here!

I'm an A/V engineer which actually does all A/V installs and networking within the education sector and business sector.

I'd recommend a NEC NP100, which displays bright, amazing images from the latest DLP® engine. It's compact, lightweight, easy to use and sets up quickly, making it ideal for use in classrooms and shared rooms.

Just upgrade 10 of our old Sanyo things to Sharp PG-F150X projectors. 3 year warranty on projector and bulb, and there filter free! so no more maintanence to a degree anyway.

Very impressed with the initial roll out and i will be changing the other projectors soon!

They are also under 400 quid plus VAT!

You need to start by looking at the brackets you already have and their distance from the board. With a bit of luck there's something on the market that'll fit and project the same size from the same distance. We discovered this to our cost when we had 5 random old projectors changed, we had to have all the brackets moved. What sort of projectors are you replacing?

Have a look here. Projection Calculator Classic - Throw Distance and Screen Size

I would measure your existing projector distance to the board and use this as a basic spec for your replacements. Spending an extra 50 quid on a projector with the right throw length would be MUCH cheaper than moving the installation!

Benq make good units. No reason why you need to pay more than 350 for a basic projector.

Good luck!
