craigg Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Right, I am currently using FOG to deploy an image... I have had exactly the same problem with Ghost aswell. The image / sysprep works, I can join to the domain etc.. When it starts to bring down software from GPO it will allways Fail for two programs, Macromedia MX 2004 Escience They are old RM packages if this makes any difference. Has anyone had any similar problems? I have atattched screenies of main errors from event viewer. It just doesn't make scence.

srochford Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 What is that registry key? I can't find the GUID. If you look at the InprocServer32 value it should be pointing to an EXE file or DLL and that might give you a clue what's going on. As Michael says, can you install it manually logged on as admin - that might rule out permissions issues. The installer service will run as the local computer account during a GPO install and it might be that this account doesn't have rights to that key (although generally, the computer account has rights to everything on the local machine!)

I think it's where you have another version installed (8 or above), but the program you are trying to install is trying to install it's own (older version) of Flash, which it can't and thus it fails. Michael Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 It's true, Macromedia MX 2004 will probably look for/use Macromedia Flash and not Adobe Flash. It's a common problem with older applications.

craigg Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 From memory there is an error.... and i think it is to do with an ocx file (for macromedia). Pressing ignore lets the installation continue though and you can use the programs fine. As for Escience i think that it might have the same problem... but i am not sure what the error would be. So how could i get arround this? Is there a switch i could put on the install of the MSI to ignore the errors? I am almost certain both programs work when you continue with the installation.

I remeber before when i did this i spent a while digging for the key and set permissions on it, It didn't do anything. I have just had a thought though, If i can find the older macromedia flash player and install it pre image it might just go through.
