X32 X64 Printer issues

We are going to start updrading our terminal servers to X64 from x32

 

Our print server is X32 and most of our architecture is X32

 

I want to know how to get the new x64 terminal servers to print without really changing too much as the users currently point and print

How is the printer connected to your network, ie shared by a machine or does it have a print server?

 

What is the printer's make and model? have you checked for x64 drivers on the manufactures website?

We use all HP but various models apx 45 printers betweed 2 print servers all networked

 

I down know how we could make point and print the same and anso how we would jet the x64 drivers on the x32 server.

 

I would be happy if we could just get the x32 drivers to work on the X64 terminal servers.

When you run a 32-bit print server you can install the x64 drivers in addition to the x86 ones specifically for use with Point-and-Print.

 

Once the printer object is set up on the server with the x86 drivers, open up the properties page for the printer and go to the Advanced tab. Click the new driver button, and following the wizard, browse to the x64 driver you want to install. You must ensure the version number of the x64 driver is the same as the x86 driver you've already installed (and make a note to update both versions when you do future driver upgrades).

 

The first time you do this you may be prompted for the x64 install CD for the server OS you've installed, as it needs to copy some x64 components from it.

 

I currently have this set up on our printer server which runs Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86, and it works like a charm.

On your printer server, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. Right click anywhere in the window and choose Server Properties.

 

From here you can see all the printers installed and the drivers/platforms they currently support. You can then add additional x64 drivers as required.
