Hello, We use ris here i just wondered if there is any way of, getting ris to start while an xp machine is running. i.e ) install the desired template / image by commaind line or navigating to the ris setup sometimes we need to build machines that are still booted, we can mstsc to them, its a bit annoying when we have to go and F12 them when we could do this from the office. I know you can install xp cd from a share but it does not have all the customisations and settings we have in RIS so it would be nice to set off ris from a machine that is allready on. Thank you

We have Windows 2003 R2 terminal servers apx.30 for our ultra thin client network. The problem is when the user selects a printer it does not allow them to print, unless a administrator origanaly selects the printer on there login The administrator can then delete the printer and the user can still addd the printer themselfs. Its like something is not letting the user install possibly the printer drivers. Does anybody have any ideas.

X32 X64 Printer issues We are going to start updgading our terminal servers to X64 from x32 Our print server is X32 and most of our architecture is X32 I want to know how to get the new x64 terminal servers to print without really changing too much as the users currently point and print We use all HP but various models apx 45 printers between 2 print servers all networked I dowt know how we could make point and print the same and and how we would get the x64 drivers on the x32 server. I would be happy if we could just get the x32 drivers to work on the X64 terminal servers.

Now its .SWF I now need to delete .swf also, but wait its not that simple I need to delete .swf over a certain size as the smaller .swf files are students work and the larger ones are games. i am currently using this command, that i overlooked for some reason cd vol:\studentFiles del *.exe /s /f the problem is it does not remove hidden or archived or zipped .exe files but it does remove read only which is good any ideas ?

We can only use what sun give us as part of BSF and there recomended setup we have had this unit for a while now, we currently only run the admin shares and home areas on this but will eventually integrate the students home areas here.

Yep the only problem is it will take system resorces at the workstation, I would rather run it server side

We have a file server that has server 2003 standard edition, one of our old servers. We cannot upgrade as yet but when we do it will be to SAN. I know server2003 ent r2 can screen files, but we do not and will not have that availability on a SAN I need a way to automatically delete .exe files, so students cannot store games and other software I either need it to stop them saving them or a way of automatically search and delete once a day. Whatever it is i will need to do this through UNC paths.
