pinemarten Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 we have got a couple of Logitech webcams and would like to demonstrate videoconferencing with them - does anyone know of any free programs that can be used for this? TIA.
plexer Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Netmeeting? if the are xp clients type conf at a run prompt to configure it. Surely the cams also come with some built in software on the install disk? Ben
pinemarten Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 the cams came with vid capture software and links to MSN, AIM and Yahoo, and a link to (subscription based) Logitech VideoCall ! I really just need a TCP/IP based app that can connect the webcams across the LAN without using the internet...
eduabncs Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Talk to your LEA IT team as they may well have VC projects on the go. All Broadband Consortia by the end of this year should have working VC Gateways connecting to the NEN. Here in Birmingham we offer our primary schools Polycom PVX software.

leco Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 We have the Polycom PVX software here and works pretty well. Does anyone have any documentation for the Polycom software? Rather late in the day I am being asked to prepare a laptop for instalation but have no manual. I can't get to the Polycom web site as there's an LEA/RBC block on it. I've been told the laptop needs a static IP address is there anything else that I should be aware of? Apparently the laptop is to be used on the wired LAN from any classroom. Any help wold be much appreciated.
Eduone Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 We tried different lan based software that uses TCP/IP connections. And choose this one: trueconf.com.au Good solution for group video conferences.
