kmount Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Need more info, is the Ubuntu install on its own or is it part of a multiboot set up? Did you do anything out of the ordinary on it yesterday before the failure?
llawwehttam Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 its on its own and i havn't done anything to it I suspect hdd failure or prob as it was cheap
Geoff Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 A Grub Stage 2 Error 16 usually means your kernel image is missing.
Jamo Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Have you tried using the Super Grub disk to either repair the grub install or manually find the right drive to mount? Is it a multi boot system or a system installed with Wubi at all? Super Grub disk is on the ultimate boot cd or you can download from their site.
llawwehttam Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 when i boot from live cd it either cant find the hdd or it crashes so i think the hdd has failed
