tech_guy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 We're going to ask staff, parents, pupils and the public to donate their unwanted mobile phones to the school so that we can sell them on sites like Mazuma Mobile - Sell, Trade in or Recycle your old, used mobile phone for cash. as a means of raising funds. I'll keep you posted as to how we get on. It could be a way of getting some extra pennies to spend on IT kit for us.
HMCTech Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Do what my old school did and just blatently ask for money.
Sylv3r Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 With the advert for things like mazuma etc on the TV for all to see, surely the students / parents would rather have the money in their own pockets? We use The buy.at affiliate network and are starting to make a little bit of money through purchases by staff, students and parents. They get their goods as normal as well as the school earning a little commission.
witch Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 We collect phones and printer cartridges and send them off somewhere that gives us money - I'll try and find out where when I am back 1

witch Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The people we use are these: Recycle 4 Kit - recycling printer cartridges, mobile phones for sports equipment The sports teachers get quite a lot of equipment rather than money, and the company takes toners AND mobile phones. They pick them up as well - all in the same box. 1
powdarrmonkey Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 We have our own cartridges sent to Recycool, and we're looking at having student/parent donated ones and phones too sometime, but no firm plans yet. 1
