My computer is 70 Degrees C

Hey, My home computer is at the moment 70 Degree's C. I am not quite sure why? I cleaned it two days ago, so it isn't dusty. All the fan's are working, I haven't been doing alot on the computer just surfing the net and chatting on IM. Please could someone tell me the problem

The fact that you cleaned it 2 days ago indicates that you may have dislodged something in your case. Ensure that your CPU fan is properly stuck to the CPU without too much heatsink glue, but with just enough etc...

Are you basing this on MB or CPU temp?Grab a copy of "Real Temp" & see what it says.

 

As localzuk says - make sure the clasp/pins (depending on your CPU) are on properly against the chip, also make sure you've not knocked some cables in the way of your fans impeding airflow etc.

Clips and fans are all fine and I am getting the temp reading from Bios.

If the ambient room temperature is high, that doesnt help.

If it's a P4 I wouldn't worry about.

 

Otherwise, give your heatsink a darn good lapping.
