StewartKnight Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 This is a job in Cumbria, nice school, pleasent kids, and they need someone good who can hit the ground running! Skills in Censornet an additional bonus!
mrforgetful Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 What's the cost of living like there? I mean it's the same salary but Pro-Rata is a pretty drastic amount to be losing..
StewartKnight Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 The cost of living is average. The average salary is about £15,000, so this is considered a good wage. It's not my job, but I'm helping out at the moment, as they are without a tech, and the extra money whilst I doing my teacher training is a bonus! I have recommended that they make the post full time. If you apply and are interviewed, you might like to explore that possibility! In the years that I've lived here, I have NEVER see a parrot in the wild!
westleya Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Oooh. Tempted. Currently at Cockermouth School, but I think this one's a little too far to drive every day (over 60 miles from home)...
jcollings Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Really? I used to go to Newcastle that way and saw them every other week, either flying about or sat on the buildings! That was back in 2003 though. As the road speeds up north of the village seeing a flock of parrots fly in front of your windscreen is very unnerving! That's why I never leave the asprin lying around - if you do the parrots eat em all
