K.C.Leblanc Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Do you multihome your servers into all your VLANs, or do you have a dedicated server VLAN and route all the traffic?
SYNACK Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Route, routing is more controlable from a network level - blocking ports/hosts etc - however I do use layer 3 switching based routing which removes almost all of the speed burden inflicted by routing. It also puts less strain and configuration overhead on the servers as it is all specified in one easy place along with limiting the broadcasts experienced by the servers network card to the nessisary ones. 1
