Connecting TomTom to phone...?

Afternoon,

 

I have recently been trying to connect my TomTom Go 720 to my phone, I am now travelling between a lot of schools and it's handy to pick up jobs on the fly. However, both the phone and the sat nav unit seem to decide themselves when they want to connect, and dis-connect.

 

One day it can be working fine all day, the next (even when the phone hasn't been turned off) it just comes up with connected.........then a few mins later, disconnected.

 

Totally random.

 

I have adjusted the security and visibility settings on each device; they can see each other and are 'authorised', but still nothing.

 

Anybody have any ideas?

 

I have confirmed that the phone is compatible with the satnav and vice versa, the phone is a Samusung Steel L810v.

If you haven't made sure your TomTom's software is up to date then do so. When I updated my Go700 ages ago it then started retrieving my entire phonebook from my SonyEricsson K750i.

 

Also do the same for your phone, that is if you're not too fussed about a warranty because some manufacturers are a bit funny with firmware upgrades on your phone.

 

 

Apart from that I can't see much else to do.
