My activstudio pe 3 will start up but as soon as I get pass the splash screen the toolbox disappears and when I click on activstudio on the windows taskbar nothing happens.

I phoned up promethean and they told be to delete the asprofilepath3 and asseting3 file.

This did not work what else can I do.

Btw this is on a network machine users are not logged in locally

Is this happening with all users who logon to that workstation or just one particular user ? Does the same thing happen when you logon as an admin (with full workstation rights?). I would suggest looking at the paths that AS uses (my resoureces, profile, shared resources etc) as a starting point.

Hi,

There is a debug version of the software which you can run, which shows you what files the software is trying to access.

Go to C:\Program Files\Activ software\Activstudio 3 and double click on AS3.5PED.exe (you should see 2 .exe's, make sure you click the one with the 'D' on the end) - this may show you where the software is trying to access, but can't.

Also, what our support team have told you to delete is correct, in deleting settings.ini, you are basically reverting back to 'factory defaults'.

May also be worth deleting all the .a3l files that are also located in the My Docs folder - these are the toolbox layout files, and if there is corruption in them, you can sometimes get problems like yours.
