cooper Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 If i deploy the Smart 10 msi do i need to remove Smart 9 from from the workstations before the installation? Cheers Cooper
Michael Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Good question. I've only deployed one or the other on base images. Upgrading might overwrite version 9, but then again, it might not. I suggest you experiment. Logically speaking/thinking, I would of thought version 9 would get uninstalled, otherwise you'll have two sets of drivers/software attempting to control/power the board which would get very complicated.
Daleus Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 The guy who came to set up our new smart 'touch screen telly on wheels' plugged his laptop in and he had both smart 9 and 10, but you could see the icon for 9 was invalid. Chances are it will just overwrite and appeared to work fine on his. Obviously have no idea if it was deployed to his laptop, but he did use a local logon because he was obviously not at his office!
Disease Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Where did you get the SMart 10 Msi from, I could do with that
Michael Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 If you run the setup file, then click Start > Run %temp% it's created within here.
CheeseDog Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 I think it was V8-V9 but I had more trouble attempting to remove the software first and then installing the new version.
Daleus Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Good to hear it! I wish we had Smart on all the teacher pc's rather than promethean and active primary. Those pens are £15 a pop, what a rip!
