Just put a request into to relocate my office elsewhere in the school. Fed up of constant interruption from pupils.

My current office is in one of the large ICT suites, and when ever I'm working and a class comes in I don't get anything done.

Funny how if I go elsewhere to work they seem to manage fine without me.

Ohhh, been there. We were located in the corner of IT1 originally, and we both know that pain.

Now requisitioned an office next to the teachers one...cut the wall in between to make a doorway. Best thing we've ever done.

In the new building, it's been designed by the supreme IT Overseer of the academies we're with...huge server room, offices, shop front/customer service, a repair bay and a "quiet" office round the back for meetings/CMIS/Quiet working, purely for IT Tech.

Lucky :censored:!

Our current IT office is an old toilet that has been done out! Beautiful white tiles all over the place.

2 long & narrow rooms FTW!

sadly, we can spin on our chairs so apparently we have enough space...

I just wish space was decided by whether you can swing a cat or not :( (nothing against cats, it just means we get a wider office :))

it seems we have more space than the teachers do...it's a running joke that the HOD (teaching) will have to have in his office :

a sliding door

Folding picnic table

Print to PDF and a 1.8inch microdrive

Asus EEE

and a folding fishing chair

in order to work.

Heh.

You must bear in mind though that up to 18 months back I did have ceiling wee in the design of my office, leading to the "self refilling" coffee cup..

Here, one is an old toilet next to another toilet and a noisy corridor.

Another is attached to the back a computer lab that gets very noisy at break.

And my office is the school library.

Our office has gone from half of the server room, to a small office with no windows, to one of the old staff workrooms which is actually a half decent size (though still cramped with 5 people in)

Dont think they're going to give us anything bigger!
