Anyone good with video editing?

Hi all,

 

Im having trouble with some video, never had a problem before but this one is annoying me.

 

We did a diary of our year 7 rugby team playing at wembley on the grand final day. The ripped video is 10gb and plays no problem on the computer. When we have edited it and converted it to DVD and burn it the picture blurs when the camera moves. I have tried encoding the video to mpg and watching it on the screen and it still blurs but the uncompressed video doesnt.

 

I've not done anything different to previous videos so im stumped.

Looks a bit like interlacing settings are messed up or FPS has been tweaked. Although you haven't done anything different, could you compare the properties of the original video to any other uncompressed source you have and make sure you haven't had a 'fiddler' doing the recording of the trip?

What software did you use? It looks like a bit rate issue to me. If you have the option, try a 2 pass VBR.

Definately an interlacing issue. Very common with objects moving across the screen. Read more here What is deinterlacing? The best method to deinterlace movies

 

Most video editors have an de-interlacing function.

Check that interlacing is set to lower field first.

cheers for the reply guys, found the article on interlacing interesting, will have a proper read tonight. Im using adobe premiere elements 3 and im currently exporting it again at 50fps to see if that makes a difference.

What camera did you use?

im not sure, canon something or other. We have used the same camera for other videos and its been fine.
