mac_shinobi Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 If say you have 7 gigabytes of data and you want to use nero or some burning app how do you configure it so that it will split the data over 2 or more discs so you dont have to zip or rar up all the files into 4 gig chunks and then burning each individual file to each dvd ?
Michael Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 If you're talking about folders, you can specify in Nero what folders you want to add. At the bottom, there's a capacity bar which visually shows you how much you can fit on the disc. Go over that limit and Nero will inform you you'll need to remove some folders.
User3204 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Most Archive tools allow you to specify to split files over a specific size. I have 7zip here, and it give me the choice of: 1.47mb - floppy 650mb - CD 700mb - CD 4480mb - DVD .. although I notice a lack of DVD9 options, although I suppose I could bung two on a disk. 7zip > 7-Zip 1
mac_shinobi Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 I know once I have gone over as it tells me - thats not what I wanted - as per the question I wanted something that automatically do the split for me.
Heebeejeebee Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I think of Nero come with a bcakup tool. I've never used it myself so I can't say for sure but I assume you can select which files to backup and that it would automaticly do the disc filling bit for you. HBJB
