What curriculum package do you use?

We currently use Office 2000 but with the upgrade my plan is to get Office 2007 licences but install 2003. This is mainly because we have just paid a fortune for new text books that are written around Office 2003. Also, the staff are not up to speed with 2007. I hope to update all of their laptops to 2007 to help them up the learning curve.

 

Are many of you using 2007 as a teaching tool for the kids.

We have Office 2007 rolled out across the whole school (primary, about 150 machines).

 

No real issues with it after the initial learning curve. I actually get people saying how much better (and easier) it is than previous versions

 

(We did the changeover with a rebuild of the whole network so everything changed not only office.)

why not keep 2000 and install open office as well in order to open those 2003 files?

We rolled it out to the whole school last September. No problems with it at all.

we have office 2003 with the 2007 compatibility back! works fine no problems. no plans as of yet to go to office 2007

We have office 2003, and to be honest I really don't see the point in upgrading as we purchase licenses outright, so would cost a bit to upgrade, and office 2003 does everything the school and curriculum demands from it, so no real problems. I think we will probably wait until the next release of office before upgrading, 2007 just doesn't seem worth it.

 

If sims would work with open office, I'd gladly put forwards the idea of using this across the site.

All office 2007 and Openoffice. Macs will soon be Office 2008, Open Office (native!) and iwork.

 

Certainly plenty of choice.
