...or use whatever modem your ISP provides. You could also use *shudder* dial-up. If your phone supports it you could use your mobile to connect out (likely slow and expensive). A USB broadband dongle (limited bandwidth). Share your desktop's internet connection (if you have both). There's also that thing that uses your mains circuit to replace ethernet cabling.
