data express back up problem

hi we have data express v3.10 sp2 secondary edition. currently using 72gb tapes which i know are only that when compressed, so when running a back up it gets to around 88% done spits the tape out asking for another one.

 

could someone please tell me how or where the option is to compress the tapes so will run properly??

How big is the backup? you are unlikly to get a full 72Gb I believe its normally much less than this depending on what you are backing up.

depends also on what files you are backing up. We have got some devices that are lucky to get a ration of 1:1.2 and others that will run 1:1.9

 

I used backupassist on a small backup which gives a great report on the ratio being achieved.

altogether what is being asked to be backed up is around 38 gb.

 

i think the tapes uncompressed are around 32gb
