Advertisers - Symantec intrusive?

Recently visiting this superb forum from various computers I have been surprised to fing that a neigh on full screen pop up type "Prevent Data Loss" advertisement from Symantec has captured my screen. I find this obtrusive - much like I have taken Symantec products off my home computers because of frustration over their trying to get me to renew subscriptions from close on 3 months before expiry! Most of the advertisements on the Forum are, effective, useful and unobtrusive - why is the Symantec one otherwise. Or am I alone in suffering from this?

Hasn't come up on my mac yet, although it has my Windows computer at work.

It screwed up my browser earlier (Firefox 2.0.0.16) required me to shut down and re-load it. Should have screen captured it really. Instead of coming up in a popup window, it came up in the main browser page, but in doing so managed to get rid of the toolbar and address bar some how!

 

Ah well, I'm counting the days until it's removed from the site TBH, I know it's generating some revenue for BETT, but it's damned annoying!!

The last few days I've been seeing it two or three times a day, usually during one visit Not that it bothers me much, it's only minor, but I'm not convinced it's working right.
