Abit premature…

Christmas lights up in the town centre of Rochdale & Drake street this morning, and we are in the festive month of September. Edited September 25, 2008 by FN-GM

They go up premature every year. The lord's son was born in March, not December. December 25th was the day that was celebrated because the nights got shorter from then.

I'm Catholic myself, and I agree with this article - it doesn't matter which day we celebrate his birth. I just thought I'd point out it's very unlikely he was born Dec 25th, even according to the bible.

They do this were I live as well. Does my head in - I mean is this England or everywhere else in the world?

Dont do it round my area, as for Reading itself I dont think they do it there either, and thats extremely multi cultural

Does Christmas come earlier north of Watford Gap?

I knew that 'up north' is a long way from here but I didn't realise it was in a different time zone!
