Hi Guys,

Any advice on this would be great, at the moment we have had 2 new Sanako suites setup and installed, and the kids think its great fun to change all the sound and Mic levels to avoid having to do the lesson.

Anyone done this or have any ideas on how to compleatly disable them from changing the sound properties within windows.

I have added a line in GPO to dissable sndvol32.exe but this does not seem to work.

Any Ideas ?

Disable access to the control panel and system tray? You could set the default volume of the sound and use headphones with a volume. That way when someone is using the computer they can change the volume on the headphones rather than the PC.

Other than that, any changes they make to the software they are using is down to the teacher to ensure that they are monitored correctly. If it is a behaviour thing rather than a technical thing push it back onto the teacher.

I thought those settings were reset to the defaults, when the software was restarted.

I know there's a file within the Sanako folder, that we have had to adapt to each machine (or rather each machine image). Check with the Sanako people.. they have a pretty good support forum, ut if you talk to the engineers, they're really useful to speak to. Do you have a support contract which includes annual visits ? As it is worth it.

We have 2 Sanako labs, but I don't support them, I will ask they guy that does, if he has this issue.

I spoke to the schools IT/Sanako Tech, and if you get the default ini file set on each machine, then it resets the audio levels back to how you want them when you restart the Sanako client (IE you logoff/logon).

Sanako should be able to help you do this.
