duncane Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I'm thinking about including the student's Windows username in SIMS as a user defined field - but only if I can figure out a way how to include them as a field in report. I may be be stupid - but I can't seem to see how to do it. (We already have one user defined field, and it doesn't seem to visible to use in reports.) Thanks for any help you can give me, Duncan.
ChrisH Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I will be interested to know the answer to this as I am thinking of a new user defined field and I would like to report on it.
jcollings Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 When writing a report and getting to the screen where you add fields to the report scroll down the list of available fields and you should see UDF with a plus sign next to it. Clicking the plus should expand it and show all your lovely UDFs or User Defined Fields. 2
duncane Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 I was being dumb :-) I was so busy looking for something starting with "User" that I didn't consider it might be in there as an acronym. D'oh! Cheers, Duncan.
DeeQuinn Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Do you know how to get the contents of a UDF into a marksheet. I have ticked the assessment box in the UDF definition.
BrownShoes Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 The Assessment checkbox enables you to filter a marksheet using your UDF. To get the contents into a column you'd have to copy them into an Aspect.
neilenormal Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 The Student List reports are good here: you can just drag UDFs straight onto the report. There is even an Export button to get it straight to excel. HTH
