Kar2ouche on Vista

I'm recreating one of our Vista images from scratch - and as part of this am re-installing a range of Kar2ouche modules.

 

They work fine, but when started complain that an appropriate MP3 codec required to play audio isn't present.

 

Anyone got an idea what this codec is and where I can get a copy? The application error message (helpfully!) suggests I install a copy of IE5 service pack 1 or later.....

 

I have Quicktime 7 installed, along with VLC player (which usually handles most things video-wise) but Immersive's website doesn't seem to cover this one.

 

Any suggestions appreciated.

I always Install CCCP, this seems to play most things thrown at it

 

Not had any issues with Kar2ouche

Thanks for the suggesting - I downloaded and installed the cccp but it made no difference - Kar2ouche still winged about a missing codec...

I now have this issue too, building our Windows 7 image. Did you ever manage to fix it?

I had a problem with Kar2ouche and Vista/Win7, phoned them up and they sent me a different exe file to run. Give them a call, theyre tech help is really good

Does anyone know if Immersive have gone bust or otherwise? Neither the phone number or email address are working

 

If that's the case does anyone have the replacement .exe anywhere I could grab?

Immersive are in administration and we fixed the problems by setting the exe all users to compatibility mode XP SP3.

I've tried all compatibility options but no joy. Are you running Vista or 7? I'm on 7 with DirectX 11.

 

These machines ran Kar2ouche on the previous install of 7 but I didn't roll it out so don't know what steps they went through.

we have it running on windows 7 under compatibility (xp service pack2) i don't remember installing anything else to get it running.

We have Windows 7 here. Is it worth PMing me your email and sending our exe file? Although it is not the newest one with the fix. But perhaps compatibility mode will work with our exe.

 

Our version is 3.0.0.48, file size 1.89meg.

 

EDIT: Thinking about it we also used a reg key while doing the fix. But that was more to insert the S/N's

The one I've got here is straight v 3.0.0 build 48 too, though the reg fix sounds promising!

Try sticking the below in a reg file only replace xxxx with your own S/N and school name.

Cheers for that mate but still no joy. It's made the licensing information appear correctly in the info now but still got the error.
