Theldron2.0 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Hi all, Hope you are well. We have recently moved from AD to Entra for devices and users are Entra Connect Sync'd. What do you do with new year 7s with regards to setting up their new passwords? Of course with AD they would get a reset your password on the first login, but of course that doesn't work with Entra. The IT teachers are getting a bit stressed out, as at the moment students have to login with a generic password, go to Edge -> My Account -> Change Password. Is there another or better way? Thanks
Sylv3r Posted September 2 Posted September 2 We generally go with their DOB - then they have go via the route you mention to reset their password. Obviously if they don't, then at least the password isn't just a generic password that everybody has. 1
mdrabble Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Use some generic letters at the start, their DOB and a special character at the end. 1
Alis_Klar Posted September 3 Posted September 3 CTRL + ALT + DEL > change password will open Edge at the reset URL. Might help some students. 1
RobFuller Posted September 3 Posted September 3 (edited) This might help you, https://specopssoft.com/blog/user-must-change-password-at-next-login-azure-ad/ I think it might be a option in the GUI now as well. Edited September 3 by RobFuller 1
