Hi all,

We’re currently using SAMpeople with Wonde write‑back into SIMS and have come across an issue with staff absences.

When an absence is entered into SAMpeople, it successfully writes back into SIMS. However, our Cover Supervisor is unable to see the absence in SIMS.

If the same absence is entered directly into SIMS, it appears correctly and the Cover Supervisor can see it without any problems.

This suggests the write‑back is happening, but something isn’t quite right in how SIMS is presenting or flagging the absence for cover purposes.

Just wondering:

  • Has anyone else experienced this?
  • Is there a known issue with Wonde write‑back and cover visibility?
  • Are there specific absence codes or settings we should be checking?

Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated.

We're having issues as well, I don't think it's linked (unless they've made some other changes) I'm interested you've got a setup with wonde write back. That wasn't offered as an option to us?

We had a school who had sampeople working, then to merge with our new Trust instance. I had to install HRACL2 program (replace the SAMPeople HR Assist program) Since then it just doesn't work.

The HR Assist seems to be setup ok, log files show it's talking with SAMPeople. But nothing is appearing in SIMS? When absence logged on sampeople, we get no errors but nothing appearing in Cover. Sampeople tell us to speak to our SIMS support team, they can't see anything wrong and say it's a sampeople issue?

We've been told our NI Numbers in sims have hyphens and sampeople doesn't so to change sims (you can't!) so going round in circles at the moment.

We're using the HR Assist to get absence data from SAM into SIMS, and from the amount of blue language coming from our Cover Managers office it's not been smooth sailing.

We had PPG involved to update the version of HR Assist to get it to work without constant crashing (now on version 2.2, and app still thinks the "latest" is 1.6 every time it runs so thats quality programming!)

Hopefully when it does work for you, doesn't result in staff with multiple active contacts (such as a lunch duty) getting reported as double the absence when off for a day like we've had, which had impacted pension contrubutions
