Uninstalling

Hi - just got the notification about updating the software - I deployed the DPS using the GPOs as suggested in their manual - but I don't know how to uninstall it in the same way, so that I can put the update on - can anyone enlighten me - thanks

delete the original msi from the GPO and replace it with the new one. If the PC does not see the original msi it uninstalls it from the PC.

I did this yesterday - it does say in the docs attached to the email I got. Just make sure you pick "Immediately uninstall software" after you've clicked to delete the original package

 

It worked fine for us - the only trouble we had was when the Head of ICT and me had a go at one of the practice tests for the first time... and struggled!!

Yep - it worked fine - first it deleted then installed - though some PCs took a couple of reboots to pick up - tho' think this is connected to the other probs we've been having with slow network response and the PCs giving up waiting for the GPOs to apply and grabbing the local cached profiles.

Same thing, told original version to uninstall and set new version to install (from a separate path) and had about half machines work, half needed further reboots. Eventvwr has Appplication Management complains about not being able to find a file - I assume the uninstall/install, are fighting over something.

 

I wouldn't call it fine !
