How do you connect to non secure websites

Please help me, I am losing my mind how does an IT admin connect to a non-HTTPS website?   Apparently, it is too dangerous to ever access these sites. How do you set up a device that has insecure pages?  Arh!!! Firefox, Chrome, and Edge have all let me down.  Non of the option to get around it seem to work!

We use an old version of Firefox Portable to access very old switches etc.

iirc I had a GPO set for Chrome... something about 'Allow continuing from the warning page'

To allow Google Chrome to continue to insecure sites via Group Policy Object (GPO), you typically need to configure the SSLErrorOverrideAllowed policy. This allows users to click through the "Your connection is not private" warning pages. 

 

Required GPO Configuration

Ensure you have the latest Chrome ADMX templates installed in your Group Policy Management Console. 

1. Navigate to the Policy:
   • Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Google > Google Chrome
2. Enable SSL Error Overrides:
   • Locate Allow proceeding from the SSL warning page (SSLErrorOverrideAllowed).
   • Set this to Enabled to allow users to click the "Advanced" button and then "Proceed to [website] (unsafe)".

Why is it so difficult to do this?  Have I become more incapable of doing simple tasks?  It still not working in Firefox.

Firefox Portable, not the normal one. You can download older versions from years back (been awhile since done this!)
