Crosscall rugged Android phones. Anyone using them?

Our mobile contracts are up for renewal* and one of the contenders mentioned Crosscall phones, the Core M6 specifically, as "hard to break, 5 years of security updates, but not a brick".

 

Is anyone using them/have any feedback on how they perform?

Look nice phones but not sure about the price!  We are looking at TCL phones.  Cheap phones for just under £50 that aren't awful, then mid phones for £75.  We make sure they have cases and screen protectors on when they go out the door and keep our fingers crossed.

 

The cheapy ones are not being used as daily drivers but we are using them for specific purposes, more a handheld than a phone.

I looked at TCL too, pricing is very keen but the chipset worried me. I've tried chipsets that arent qualcomm before with poor results, specifically with wifi connectivity.

Apparently they have new "K70" models coming out later in the year which have switched to qualcomm.

Their nxtpaper screens are lovely mind.

 

My last batch was Motorola G75 5G. They've been pretty robust with just the supplied silicone case.
A lot of our phones are Moto and I'm not sure how taking away chop-chop for torch and twist for camera would go down....

 

If you end up trying the crosscall let us know how it goes.

For me key thing is how long they get security updates for, bear in mind its number of years since phone was released, not purchased.

 

In terms of rugged phones my feeling is that hey are basically phones with a good IP rating and rugged cases.  I can see a case where best option is getting a IP67 phone and separate rugged case.  Most rugged phones I have seen have been from fairly sketchy suppliers, don't really trust the security or warrentee.

I recently got my first Moto since the OG Razr. Love the gestures and Smart Connect enough to be likely to get another when the time comes.
